FAQ

FAQ: Executive, Team and Female Leadership Coaching in Geneva

1. Executive coaching in Geneva

Where can I find executive coaching in Geneva?

I offer executive coaching in Geneva and online internationally. I am an ICF-certified coach and psychotherapeutic counsellor, based between Chamonix and Geneva, and I work with senior leaders, founders, directors and entrepreneurs. My coaching draws on more than 25 years of senior leadership experience, including as a senior manager at Accenture in Geneva. You can read more on the executive coaching page.

What is executive coaching, and how is your approach different?

Executive coaching is a confidential, structured partnership focused on your goals as a leader. My approach adds psychological depth. Using Transactional Analysis, we look at the patterns beneath your performance: how you react under pressure, why certain conversations keep repeating, and what is holding your impact at its current level. Then we build a practical path forward.

What does leadership development coaching involve?

Sessions are one-to-one, weekly and 60 minutes long, in Geneva or online. Each engagement is built around your goals and works at one of three depths. A Leadership Reset is four sessions for a specific decision or moment of pressure. Leadership Expansion is twelve sessions for recurring dynamics you want to change. Leadership Transformation is twenty-four sessions for senior leaders stepping into a bigger role. We decide together which fits.

How much does executive coaching cost in Geneva?

My executive packages are 720 CHF for the four-session Leadership Reset, 2,050 CHF for the twelve-session Leadership Expansion and 3,890 CHF for the twenty-four-session Leadership Transformation, all excluding VAT. The first step is a free introductory call, so you can see whether we are a good fit before committing.

Can I coach with you online, and in English or French?

Yes to both. I work bilingually in English and French, and sessions take place in Geneva or online, so I also work with leaders based elsewhere in Switzerland and internationally.

What are your coaching qualifications?

I am an ICF Associate Certified Coach (ACC) with ICF-accredited executive and team coaching training, and I work under the ICF Code of Ethics, which includes confidentiality. I am also a UKCP-registered psychotherapeutic counsellor, currently completing an MSc in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy at Metanoia Institute and Middlesex University. You can see my details on the about page.

What is the difference between coaching and therapy?

Coaching is forward-looking and goal-focused, and it is not a treatment for mental health conditions. My coaching draws on psychological insight, but it is not therapy. I also run a separate psychotherapy practice, and if something comes up that would be better explored there, we would talk about it openly.

2. Patterns, Transactional Analysis and leadership

What is Transactional Analysis, and why use it in coaching?

Transactional Analysis (TA) is a psychological model developed by the psychiatrist Eric Berne in the 1950s and 60s. In coaching, it gives leaders a practical shared language for dynamics that are usually felt but rarely named: which part of you is running the meeting, the messages you absorbed early, and the patterns that repeat. Read more in What Is Transactional Analysis and Why Does It Matter.

What are the five drivers in leadership?

Drivers are unconscious internal instructions, identified by the Transactional Analyst Taibi Kahler in the 1970s, about what you must be to feel good enough. There are five: Be Perfect, Hurry Up, Please Others, Be Strong and Try Hard. They often drive early success, then become costly at senior levels. See The Five Drivers That Shape High-Performing Leaders.

Why does the same difficult dynamic keep happening to me at work?

Repeating conflicts are often what Berne called psychological games: a series of exchanges that looks ordinary but arrives at the same uncomfortable feeling every time. Both people contribute, usually without realising. Once you can recognise the opening move, you have a choice you did not have before. Read Why It Always Ends This Way: Psychological Games in Leadership.

Why do I feel underestimated in meetings?

Often it is less about confidence than about what contracts in you when visibility is on offer. In TA, early messages such as "don't be important" can quietly shape how much space you take, even at senior levels. Executive presence techniques help on the surface, but lasting change usually comes from working at the level of identity. See Why You Allow Yourself to Be Underestimated in the Room.

3. Team coaching

Do you offer team coaching in Geneva?

Yes. I work with leadership teams, agencies and innovation teams in Geneva who want to move from friction to high-trust performance. Formats include team coaching sessions, off-sites, workshops and cross-cultural alignment work. There are three entry points: Team Clarity (one half-day, 1,200 CHF excl. VAT), Team Alignment (two half-days, 2,280 CHF) and Team Transformation (four half-days, 4,320 CHF). See the team coaching page.

Is team coaching suitable for tech, digital and creative teams?

Yes. I have 25+ years of experience in agencies and consultancies, so I know the pressures of client intensity, pitch culture and rapid change. The approach works across sectors, because the underlying issue is usually relational, not technical.

Why is my talented team still struggling?

Teams that struggle are often not short of talent. They are short of the conditions to use it. Underneath the presenting problem, there is usually something no one has named: an avoided conversation, a role that is unclear, a pattern everyone feels and nobody raises. Read Your Team Is Brilliant. So Why Is It Struggling? and The Conversation Teams Aren't Having.

4. Female leaders and midlife

Do you run workshops for female leaders in Geneva?

Yes. With Sandrine Desmares, a menopause coach and founder of The Second Bloom, I co-facilitate workshops for senior women on the invisible load, burnout, the nervous system and hormonal change. Formats are a half-day reset, a four-week online series or a full programme of four half-days, with in-person sessions of up to 20 participants. See the female leaders page.

How does midlife affect women in leadership?

Three shifts tend to collide: a biological one (hormonal change affecting sleep, cognition and stress response), a psychological one (a pull toward meaning, not just achievement) and a structural one (a demanding job, often alongside family and caregiving). In a 2023 survey of over 2,000 UK women aged 40 to 60, 67% of those with menopause symptoms said the effect on them at work was mostly negative. Understanding what is shifting lets you redesign your role. Read The Midlife Collision. This is coaching, not medical advice, so please speak to a doctor about symptoms. CIPD

Do you only work with women?

No. I work with leaders of all genders. Women in midlife carrying demanding roles are a particular focus of my work.

5. Founders, burnout, AI and change

Do you coach entrepreneurs and founders in Geneva?

Yes. Founders often face a specific challenge: the business exists because of their vision and energy, so their identity and the company become fused. Coaching helps you lead as the business scales, delegate and separate who you are from what you have built. See When You Are the Brand: The Founder Identity Trap.

Can coaching help with burnout?

Coaching can help you recognise and address the patterns behind it. Senior leaders often experience what some researchers call quiet cracking: still delivering, while flat, irritable and depleted underneath, often driven by a Be Strong pattern. Coaching is not a medical treatment, so if you have symptoms of burnout or depression, please see a doctor as well. Read Quiet Cracking.

How can I cope with AI changing my role and my team?

Start with the human side, which is often the hardest. For leaders whose identity is built on expertise, AI can trigger a fear of becoming obsolete, and it can also change how teams relate. In coaching, we look at what you are worth beyond what you can do, and how to lead your team through the shift. See The AI Identity Threat and AI Is Changing Your Team.

Can coaching help with a career change?

Yes. Career change is rarely just about work. It is about identity, values and the courage to live in line with what matters to you now. Coaching gives you a space to explore what is pulling you, what is holding you back and what your next step could be. Read Unlocking Fulfilment.
